World Radio Day 2025

Dear Colleagues,
Good afternoon, I hope this email finds you well.
Radio is a powerful medium that celebrates humanity in all its diversity and serves as a vital platform for democratic discourse. Globally, it remains the most widely consumed medium, offering a unique ability to reach the broadest audience. This makes radio an influential force in shaping a society’s experience of diversity, amplifying voices, and ensuring representation and inclusion.
As you may be aware, World Radio Day is fast approaching. This year’s theme, “Radio and Climate Change,” highlights the essential role of radio in addressing climate issues by informing, educating, and empowering communities, particularly those in vulnerable regions. The theme emphasizes radio’s ability to raise awareness, influence public opinion, and inspire action on climate change.
I would like to share the resources for World Radio Day 2025 (WRD25) dedicated pages in 6 languages.  UNESCO provides your station, network or show with a list of radio stations around the world willing to participate in programming partnerships with colleagues in other countries.  Your radio stations and partners can plan your February broadcasts or celebrations, simply  register for the 2025 celebration and fill out the form if you, your station, or network is interested in partnering with others in this exciting process.
