Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received at his office in Villa Somalia Chinese ambassador to the country FEI Shengchao on Sep 1.
The two sides exchanged views on economic development, security, and tackling ongoing humanitarian challenges in Somalia.
Mohamud and Shengchao in their first meeting since the change in the leadership in May discussed further strengthening bilateral relations between China and Somalia.
Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in support of Somalia in all these areas.
China has shown interest in the investment of Somalia as it faces competition from Turkey and UAE. The US and other countries are also eying greater investment.
